Dual-Pol (MIMO) 900 MHz Yagi (Ubiquiti)
This dual-pol Yagi is great for non Line of Sight (nLOS) applications where there are obstructions such as trees that block a 2.4 or 5 GHz signal.
It is intended to be ued with the Ubiquiti 900 MHz RocketM.

|
We tested these and they performed excellently through a row of trees where 2.4 and 5 GHz completely failed. |

3 GHz
At Freenet Atennnas, we import the 3GHz Rocket Dishes. We do not import any 3 GHz radios (eg RocketM3) due to the expense/risk of having them C-Ticked to ACMA standards.
Do you have a need for 3 GHz systems? If so - please email clark@freenet-antennas.com.au with a phone number. I would like to call you and discuss your needs and if we can help.
Here is what we know (please contact me if there is a mistake in what is said below).
Ubiquiti make 2 different 3 GHz product ranges
- M3 product range
- 3400 - 3700 MHz
- Not licensed for use in USA
- Licensed for use in the EU, but the ACMA does not recognise EU radio certification.
- Difficult/expensive to license (C-Tick) in Australia
- M365 product range
- 3650 MHz only (with a 25 MHz channel-width)
- Licensed in USA
- Can be C-Ticked readily in Australia
The ACMA permits licensed usage in rural areas in this band as follows:
- 3575 to 3700 MHz for Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP). (ref: FX 19)
- 3590 to 4190 MHz for PtP BUT 3575 to 3710 is currently embargoed for new PtP links to allow space for the PtMP networks. So effectively, new PtP links can only be in 3710 to 4190 MHz. (ref: FX 3 and Embargo 42)
Putting all this together, it reduces to:
- We could sell the M365 product range, but
- Only for PtMP systems - and only on one channel
- Doubt there is a market for such a niche. (???)
While I would like to stock the M3 or M365 product range, it this stage it would seem to be a loss-making proposition.
Any comments welcome.

Tell us of Your Success
 |
Do you have a WiFi success story you would like to share with other Freenet Antennas customers? If so email us the details and we might publish in our next newsletter. |
Incredible WiFi coverage from our 13 dBi OMNI MIMO antenna.
One of our Eastern States clients recently deployed an AMO-2G13 antennas with a UniFI Outdoor AP.
Once installed on the steel roof at the corner of a 800m x 800m industrial property, his site survey found high signal on his iPad anywhere on the property, including inside the building the antenna was mounted on.
We had designed his network to have two indoor Unifi's (one for each building) as we have never seen adequate signal coverage inside a building with the main AP mounted on top of the steel roof before. Our client tells us that in his opinion, the one AMO-2G13 and UniFI Outdoor AP would have been adequate for the whole property based on his survey results.
